If you’re asking the question, is a New Forest hen do a good idea? The answer is: Wow, where do I start! For starters, The New Forest is a world-famous UNESCO World Heritage Site, which is a fantastic feature on its own, but it also holds the title of an AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty). These two accolades definitely put two ticks in the potential hen do destination box that few other destinations can boast.
This stunning and historic area is located in the South West of Hampshire close to the Dorset border and has been a significant area throughout history, from the Bronze Age right through to recent times. It was even declared to be a ‘Royal Forest’ by William the Conqueror (of Battle of Hastings fame) and was mentioned in the famous Doomsday book.
The New Forest is simply stunning and would make a wonderful backdrop to your hen do. Its landscape is a mixture of quaint market towns, ancient forests, open common ground, picnic spaces and country pubs. The famous New Forest ponies are a beautiful throwback to a more ‘tech less age’ and depending on the season you may also be lucky enough to see pigs and their piglets wandering the forest devouring the freshly fallen acorns.
New Forest Hen Do Accommodation mainly consists of hen party houses and we’re delighted to offer some spectacular options for your group to enjoy your celebration in luxury set in serene surroundings.
For large groups, we have incredible properties like New Forest Manor, which sleeps up to 22 guests in absolute luxury. If you need even more space, The Paddocks combines two houses to sleep 23 and features a state-of-the-art hot tub and table tennis.
If you prefer a classic country feel, check out Forest Tree (sleeping 14) or the charming The Thatch, a traditional cottage with a hot tub and games room. For something truly unique, look at Stargazer, a luxury lodge with a shepherd's hut annexe!
Alternatively, if you want to be close to the forest but with easy access to a city like Salisbury, Cathedral View is a fantastic option just 25 minutes away.
Being rural, many hen do activities are ones that come to you, meaning you can enjoy some amazing experiences in the comfort of your accommodation. Some of our amazing in-house activities include: Mobile Pamper Treatments, Private Chef, Dance Workshops, Cheeky Butlers, Murder Mystery with professional actors, Adult Paint Workshops, Wine Tasting, and Mobile Cocktail Masterclasses.
The New Forest also has a number of other hen do activities available nearby. Within a short drive, you’ll be able to enjoy the hilarious Inflatable Waterpark, wakeboarding, stand-up paddleboarding, and Kayaking. If you want a day at the seaside, the gorgeous Bournemouth beaches are only a 30-minute drive away.
There are a number of amazing market towns and villages in and around this landscape that are well worth a visit. Some of the notable areas you may wish to explore include Brockenhurst, Burley, Lyndhurst, and Fordingbridge. In each of these villages, you’ll find classic bric-a-brac shops, boutiques, bars, and restaurants offering food and drinks and even afternoon tea.
A notable shoutout goes to Beaulieu, home to the famous National Motoring Museum. Near Beaulieu, you’ll also find The Lime Wood, a superb restaurant owned by Michelin Star winning chefs Angela Hartnett and Luke Holder.
